Since starting Ravelry and joining the Library Thing I find I have a lot less time to get my work done. It's just too additive!!!! It's like waiting for Fae Fever to come out. Very frustrating!!! Today I'm bound and determined to finish at least one of my WIP. Well, we'll see I've got some raking to do outside as well. Yeah right, we'll see what all gets done. *:)
I think I have to stop by the Smackdown Forum first to see who all has been Smacked by a Hat.

Starting on the Library Thing
My son sent me some Black Pearls from Dubai. I was so excited!!!
I don't know if I was more pleased with the Pearls or the Thank You Love note that came with them. He really is a cute man and such a Doll. He sent his Dad a box of Cuban Cigars. Every Saturday night now, my husband is outside smoking. I hope he has some left for when we drive over to Vegas this week.

Learning to Knit
Normally, I love to learn new things. It's the new ways that really bug me. I've been crocheting since I was Nine. I taught myself. At the time I also tried to teach myself to knit but it was the cast on that confused me. I didn't understand the tail thing. If I would've used the Knit On Method of casting on, I'd of probably been able to teach myself to knit as well. But alas the book I used only showed one method. I've been trying to learn again for about a year. This time I have casting on down. Thanks to Jocelyn whose been teaching me. This week I finally bought a wooden pair of knitting needles and I suddenly seem able to knit. Purling is another thing that I'm still working on. I watched a video on You Tube regarding Portuguese Knitting. She used a Cro Needle. Addi makes a circular kind that I was able to find one of. I've ordered another but I'm not very patient about waiting for it to arrive. In the video she also held the yarn around her neck for tension and threw the yarn with her thumb. It would seem easier for me to use the Continental style, working the yarn with my left pointer finger instead. Especially if your using a Cro Needle. My knitting seems loose when I use regular knitting needles but with the Cro Needle it's too tight. What's up with that? And why do I suddenly seem to have a hole in my knitting since I've been very careful not to loose any stitches?
